My cousin bought the real growers buckets & used pro mix as his substrate. He is not getting any wicking to the medium ? any clues tips or tricks ?

Did he soak from the top 1st as I think you have to do this but plz ask about first but I’m pretty sure just not 100% why I’m saying ask about

This is a very good point. When doing any kind of transplanting it’s very important to saturate the entire media before putting a plant in it to keep the exposed roots happy. When I transplant in to a large pot from a smaller pot, I put the small pot to the depth I want in the large pot by adding media to bottom and sides if I don’t want root ball at bottom of new pot while the plant is still in small pot. I’ll water, then after a few minutes I’ll pull out the small pot, leaving it’s shape in the big pot’s media. All the media should be saturated and now you’re good to pull the plant out of the small pot and drop it in the new big pot of wet media.
