5 months agoAsk a Grow Question In prevention of powdery mildew, I understand that airflow and humidity have a big role.
I see treatments for PM that recommend an acidic spray like sulfer. Down to 2.5 ph is what kills PM?
I feel that I’ve heard @Scottyreal say that the hypee ( root) of PM can’t anchor on surfaces lower than 6 or 5.8? Am I mistaken or is this a fact..
Anyways I built a custom humidifier from a inline fan, a pond fogger,and a rubber tote 19 gal..
I ph my water with vinegar down to 5.8 or lower..
Anyone foresee any issues…
My goal is to maintain vpd in flower with the higher humidity.
If the moisture in the air is acidic then the PM can’t root.. is my theory…
I plan to even humidity just to dehumidify like an exchange to maintain ph of air..
Thoughts?

I would be worried that some of the water would evaporate and create a very low ph environment. Or it would leave high asidic residue on the surfaces in your tent that would harm anything organic. But I’m no expert I’m excited to see what happens.

@jedi99000 the water in the humidifier before adding acid… naturally gets alkaline after time..
I think that’s normal

@jedi99000 apple cider vinegar… I’m using organics too.. so the smell is what it is.. not too bad. My water starts at 6.0 so it doesn’t take much to drop it a few points.
