• Should I be using botanicare calmag with canna nutrients, canna coco, city water, out of tap PH just over 8. I just don’t see Iron on Canna bottles

      • If you use coco, you need calmag. Coco leaches calcium from the plants

@Seedpoppa thank you, I have been using at 2 mil, with Canna nutrients. In morning been noticing a little Claw on some bigger fans, then mostly stretches up by afternoon. Have been staying under recommend on all nutrients by 2-3 mil, and watching. I appreciate

          • @Seedpoppa This is not a true statement. Never supplement calcium unless the plant is showing deficiencies.

            • @jmystro could just be my nutrient regimen 🤘🏻

              • @Seedpoppa There are very specific elements required for growth but the perfect elemental ratios are plant specific. I would never say I always do this or that. I treat every plant like the unique individual it is. Getting a plant to it’s peak potential will never happen on the first few runs with any off the self product. Just because a plant ‘looks’ healthy throughout it’s entire life doesn’t mean it’s even come close to it’s actual potential. No bottled formula is going to provide the perfect ratio of elements for your plant. Most formulations are based on a safe known baseline. 90%+ of plants will grow without issue with any powdered or liquid base nutrient line. Only on the rare occasion will a plant ‘need’ calcium or magnesium supplemented on top of the base formula. Just like every piece of inert substance in soil like perlite does nothing for CEC but lower it, The more calcium available that the plant doesn’t need will go toward making other elements less available, but not necessarily deficient. This will tank performance with little sign to the new grower they’re losing performance because the plant looks healthy.

          • That’s my water lol

We running the same setup. I was always curious if I had to get the rest of stuff on the canna chart

Rhizotonic, cannazym, cannaboost and pk 13/14

Not to mention the ratio of A and B combined thru grow and veg.

Can someone enlighten me on these nutes Scooty recommended we use with coco lol

            • @oldestschool I use their whole line up. The PK is the amazing part. I drop the A/B a tad during the PK so they don’t get overloaded and I only use the rhizotonix through week two of flower. Their Boost is kinda spendy but does the job quite nicely. Cannazym js amazing too. You can mix 10ml to a gal. of water and saturate your used coco and leave it covered for two weeks and the leftover root mass all but disappears. I supplement very little other than Recharge, Dune and Mammoth P. Read up on TRIA/Triacontanol too. There’s some amazing shit out there now!
I also learned to mix 1/10 ratio of pH Up in a side bottle to make adjusting pH a little easier than chasing a 0.9 climb with drops and going crazy. Check out Doggo The Hutt on YouTube. He’s a canna guy and has his shit dialed in right. Shows it all, warts and everything.

              • @oldestschool thanks mate, I’ll check them out. Really appreciate the pointers. You the Man

Thank you, I do use all those. Just was unsure about cal-mag. The new Cal-mag Canna has is for R/O water, I bought it ne er used it.

                • Canna Coco A&B has all the essential elements required with the exception of chloride that is in every water source. Most plants will not need any supplements like calcium or magnesium. This is very plant specific, not media specific. Supplementing calcium when it’s not needed is going to antagonize other elements limiting yield.

                  • @jmystro I specifically supplement my calcium via gypsum dry amends and a little boost from calcium chloride in my mix and see a significant boost in performance and overall health. Including stronger branches and less hallow stems which make for stronger cuts.

                  • So it depends on what nutes you’re using. Canna is designed for coco so no not unless you see deficiencies. However not all nutes are designed for coco and those that are not yes you would boost at least a little bit. Coco steals mag and calcium from the plants so you add extra. Calcium by itself I supplement regardless but I have a whole custom profile and that’s a whole other conversation.

                    • Grambo from the show has been growing for a very long time. He doesn’t use cal mag and hasn’t bought a bottle in a very long time. No need to. I just did a run with no cal mag and it turned out great and it was in coco. Use a quality coco and it won’t leech from your plant.
