I take mine to the tub and spray them with water, inside and out. The internet says not to do this but it works for me. I’ve washed the one in my 2×4 4-5 times so far. In my 2×4 I have a 4″ fan with a filter. It totally eliminates the smell. After 6 weeks or so I start smelling it, clean the filter and I’m good for another 6 weeks.
