Well, what I would do… Soil drench with A product like Monterey, that contains Spinosad. Since I also have pryrethrum always in stock I would also do a round of that in the soil. Now I do this already in my greenhouse just because, but, if I was really worried about something in the soil, I would put a wrap on the trunk and put some tanglefoot on it. Anything that crawls out of the ground is going to crawl up the trunk or bamboo stakes. I also smear tanglefoot on those.
