5 weeks agoAsk a Grow Question I’ve been using Canna products for many years with great success. My question is about there product called PK 13/14. The instructions say that you should only use it for a maximum of one week. This does not specify if it’s for hydro or soil applications. If it were soil then I imagine the extra p and k would be present after the one week period. If the same product was used in a hydro system with rockwool cubes, the water chemistry would change almost immediately. I currently run it for a week and then refresh the resevoir.
Should I be tapering off after a one week period? Just wondering what people think.

My best advice would be to read your plants. Less is more for me. Unless there is a deficiency

I ran the PK 13/14 for the first time with this grow. Things are looking great! I’m using 100% canna coco which is what their nutes are designed for (per the rep at DGC). It’s my understanding that coco behaves more like hydro than soil. Your approach of running for a week and then changing the reservoir seems right to me.

There is no one size fits all product for cannabis with such variety. PK boosts from any company may be used for multiple weeks starting at a lower rate. It is very plant dependent on how much and when. Generally you can use bloom boosters for 1-3 weeks around peak bloom. Total flowering time determines how much of a PK boost the plant can handle and for how long. 8 weeks or less, one week is probably fine. 10+ week plants can have several weeks of peak bloom.
