• Is it possible to use Carnivorous plants as a ipm?

      • Not really. At least none that I’m aware of of. I think most carnivorous plants prefer high humidity too. The Mexican Butterworth maybe. It will trap fungus gnats but is used more to detect them than control populations.

        • I would think even if they did their job, they’d be ineffective. They may catch some of flying/landing bugs, but generally the real pest issues are in the soil where carnivorous plants wouldn’t have any effect.

          • Check out companion plants that are native to your area. Basil, mint, marigolds, dill. lavender, comfrey, sunflower, garlic, etc…

              • Possible? Sure… Advisable? Not really… Carnivous plants are designed to attract the pests you’re trying to be rid of… think sticky trap, but with smelly good and looky good stuffs that the insects like… humidity is another concern. If you decide to give it a try, best of luck, and let us know how it turns out.
