Leaf deformities like this are typically caused by some type of root stress (usually pH related) at the time the leaf was forming.

If it continues and the plant is otherwise “healthy” looking it could be a genetic deformation. I had a cut of Super Lemon Haze that would have verigated leaf coloring and random leaves that would be deformed in shape. It was just a wild child, healthy roots or not. Or it’s stressed.

@simeon Variegation is a very common genetic mutation. The severity of it usually determines how it will perform.
