Hi DGC i have a question i started 10 seeds however eight are regs what im wondering what is the best and quickest way to determine if they arw male or female?
-
I think you just have to wait until they reach sexual maturity and show you the goods. I know there’s a lab out there that will test a clipping for you but it’s pricey and only saves you a week or two.

If they are photoperiod plants @scottyreal described a method where you take a clipping of each and clone them then check the plant by flipping it into flower on the clipping to see what each one does.
Lots of growers will say that the bottom two branches won’t produce as much and this falls in line with my experience as well. So grab one of those bottom branches, Perfect your cloning game to boost your growing capability!

A small part of the plant will show the gender traits pretty quickly then you can do what you want with the clones.

But this is confusing because if you’re too rough with the plant you can easily knock off the hairs on the calyx and it won’t have the hairs but still look like a female organ.

Thank you guys this defently gives me some options to look at.

@dbcewper420 If they are autos just wait and they will show in a few weeks anyways.

I am inpatient so I prefer to buy a 10 pack of dna testers from Farmer Freeman, cut off a small piece of tissue when a plant is only a couple weeks old and then know the results in a couple days. Then I’m not wasting a lot of time not knowing and growing out a bunch of males. Thats Just me tho……..mos

@pungolian beat me to it haha!!✌️
If you don’t see stigmas (white hairs) protruding from the pistils (pear shaped organ at the nodes shown above – not ball shaped) it’s most likely a male.
If unsure… Let em go a while… You will be able to tell.
