RSO

I’m about to make my first batch of RSO. What alcohol is best. I can’t get 190 proof from the liquor store. I can get 151 proof but is that good enough? Thank you

Lower proof means more water. More water makes the process take a little longer but doable.

More water also means you’ll be pulling water soluble stuff/contaminants. I’ve been successful with 160 proof. The taste was bad but the effect was lovely. It seemed like the alcohol evaporated off first and the water that was left behind could have just been poured off. Idk about that though.

Ask them at your local liquor store if they carry 190 in the back. Some states , like here in Ohio ,they’re not allowed to sell it on store shelves but they are allowed to sell it.

If that’s unsuccessful, you can order food grade ethanol which is about 200 proof

and have it shipped to your house.

My local store keeps it under the counter, have to ask. They don’t want people buying thinking u drink it

Lmao, remember there’s always a story behind every weird policy/rule. 😂
