I usually do a calibration every 10 days to stay on the safe side.

They eventually lie to you and is why I never use digital pH meters. There is a measuring probe and reference probe. The potassium chloride needed to maintain a neutral pH in the reference probe to measure against will leach out over time.

The Milwaukee PH55 is hands down the best built and solid meter I’ve used. And it’s cheap. I much prefer it over my apera ph20. It’s also double jointed with a replaceable probe and fully waterproof. But you still need to rinse well and store in solution. However I would never trust any meter without the occasional spot check using chemical drops. If your in soil drops are all you need. But hydro including coco you need to be more precise.
one other thing just to add in there is I always rinse with my tap water til it reads my known value which is 7.1 this tells
me I’ve rinsed it sufficiently and if it doesn’t return to this it should in theory tell me it’s off. It’s not a perfect way to check but I think it makes for a good habit. So far I haven’t needed to recalibrate though.
