I’ve got the fancy AC Infinity heat mat and thermostat and it’s cool, but TBH for years I’ve just been plugging my heat mat into the outlet, and it seems to do fine without a thermostat.

Ideally you want the light fixture as close as possible without being too intense to limit stretch. Cold temps will slow overall growth and increase stretch during the day with colder temps at night.
