Ideally you want the light fixture as close as possible without being too intense to limit stretch. Cold temps will slow overall growth and increase stretch during the day with colder temps at night. My grow room is part of the garage and the air conditioners face the big car part of the garage and they keep it warm enough in there for them (the A/C’s) to keep running.
